Privacy policy
Praeforge · last updated 13 October 2026
Praeforge makes games and the apps that go with them. This policy covers all of them, the Praeforge account you sign in to them with, and this website. Each app has a section of its own below for what only it does. It does not cover people who apply to or work for Praeforge.
In short: we keep what an app needs to work, and what you choose to share with other players. We sell nothing, show no adverts, and track no one. You can delete your account, and what it holds, whenever you like.
Your Praeforge account
Your Praeforge account, at id.praeforge.com, is how you sign in to our apps. You sign in with Apple or Google; there is no password.
- From Apple or Google, when you sign in: an identifier for your Apple or Google account, your email address, and your first and last name if they give them. Apple gives your name only the first time you sign in, and may give an address it makes for you that forwards to yours. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- From Apple, a token for your sign-in, so that your Sign in with Apple can be revoked with Apple when you delete your account. We keep no token from Google.
- Your sessions: that you are signed in, in which of our apps, and when each was last used.
- Sign-in events: when you signed in or out, to which app, and the internet address it came from, so misuse can be noticed.
An app you sign in to receives your account's identifier and email address, and keeps only what its section below says.
Google user data
When you choose Continue with Google, we ask Google for your basic profile only (the openid, email and profile scopes): your Google account's identifier, your email address and your name. We use them for one thing: to make your Praeforge account and sign you in to it. We do not use them for advertising, we do not sell them or share them with anyone to sell, and no person reads them unless you ask us to help with your account, or the law or the account's security needs it.
Praeforge's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can remove Praeforge's access at any time in your Google account, at myaccount.google.com/connections. That stops Google signing you in here; it does not delete your Praeforge account, which you delete as below.
Praecraft
An army builder, rules reference and battle tracker for StarCraft: The Miniatures Game, at praecraft.praeforge.com.
On your phone
Your armies, your battles and the rules are kept in the app's own folder on your phone, and go nowhere unless you share them. Nothing about building an army or playing a battle needs an account or a network. If you sign in, the tokens that keep you signed in are kept in your phone's keychain or keystore.
Crash reports and usage statistics
Each is off until you turn it on in the app, and you can turn either off again in Privacy at any time.
- A crash report says what went wrong when Praecraft stopped unexpectedly: the error, where in Praecraft it happened, the app's version and your phone's system.
- Usage statistics count which screens are opened and how often armies are built, exported and played.
Neither carries your account, your name, anything you typed, your armies or battles, or any identifier of your phone, and neither keeps the internet address it came from, so nothing sent can be traced back to you. We use them to fix faults and to see which parts of Praecraft are used.
If you sign in
An account is for what involves other players: seats in a battle, sharing your army with the table, approving a battle's result, and your stats. Praecraft keeps:
- Your Praecraft account: the name other players see, and who may see your stats. It keeps your Praeforge account's identifier and no email address; the address is shown back to you in the app, and never to another player.
- Your sessions on its website: that a browser is signed in, and when it was last used.
- Battles you take part in: their setup, the log of what happened as the tracking phone sends it, your seat, the army you shared, the battle's report, and your answer to it.
- Your stats, worked out from the battles every player approved.
Who sees it
- The players in a battle see its seats, the names their accounts go by, and its report.
- Under open army lists, every player in the battle sees every army. Under closed lists, other players see your faction and tactical cards, and each unit only once you reveal it.
- Your stats are seen by you alone, by players you have met in a battle, or by everyone, as you choose.
- Archon Studio, who make the game, receive a battle's report only when every player in it has approved the same result and ticked Send our report to Archon Studio. The report carries each player's display name, never an account's identifier or email. Once sent, it is Archon Studio's.
This website
- The web server's log of requests to praeforge.com and our apps' sites: the time, the internet address, the page and the browser, kept to keep the service secure. Sign-in codes are removed from it, and an app's crash reports and statistics leave nothing in it.
- If you write to us through the form on praeforge.com, what you put in it comes to us by email, and we keep it as long as we need to answer you.
- Cookies: only the ones signing in needs. No advertising or analytics cookies, here or in our apps.
Who else sees it
- Apple or Google, which you sign in with, see that you signed in to Praeforge.
- Amazon Web Services runs the servers everything is kept on, and keeps our encrypted backups, in the United States (Ohio). If you live elsewhere, your data is kept and handled there.
- Resend delivers the website form's messages to us by email.
- Other players and Archon Studio, only as an app's section says.
We share it with no one else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account, and what it holds from Apple or Google, until you delete it.
- A sign-in session ends after 30 days unused, and after a year whatever happens; an app that keeps you signed in loses that after 90 days unused. A session on an app's website ends after 30 days unused.
- Sign-in events, 30 days.
- In Praecraft: a battle that is abandoned, or left for 90 days with no report, is deleted, and one with a report stays as its players' record; a report not approved by every player within 14 days is kept private, for its players alone; crash reports, 90 days; usage statistics, 13 months.
- The server's log, until newer requests replace it.
- Backups, which are encrypted, 90 days: something deleted is gone from them 90 days later.
Your choices
- Delete your account and what every app holds for it: here is how.
- In Praecraft, change your name and who sees your stats, download a copy of everything your account owns (in the app, or at praecraft.praeforge.com/account), and turn crash reports and usage statistics on or off in Privacy.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will do it within a month. Wherever you live, you have these rights; you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Our apps are not made for children. A Praeforge account is not for anyone under 13, or under the age their country sets for agreeing to this themselves; if a child has made one, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what we keep or how we use it, we will say so in the apps before it applies.
